I am 57 years old and have 10 siblings with a family history of heart disease and strokes 3 out of 10 plus my mother, all in their late 50 S. I am a smoker, but my blood pressure is great and cholesterol is good. My resting heart rate tends to be high according to my smart phone (90 heart rate). What are my chances of having a stroke or heart attack?
That is normal heart rate, you should not worry about it.
In general, it not cause any harm but with comorbidity condition it can lead to insufficient blood supply to the heart muscles which can lead to myocardial infarction but it's very rare.
