Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hii, I ovulated on 8th august, 14 ( 19th day of cycle), my gynae asked to take duphaston from 10th aug for next 15 days . I have 30-31 day cycle & should get my period on 20 or 21 aug, but still it has not started. Kindly let me know when can I take a pregnancy test? And as im on duphaston can it be reason of delay in period?
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query. The reason for the delay in periods can be either pregnancy or the effect of Duphaston. If you are not pregnant your periods usually would start 5-7 days after stopping Duphaston i.e 30 th to 1st of September. You have not written the date of your query. If your periods did not come by the 1st week of September, a beta HCG testing for pregnancy should have been done to know whether you are pregnant. Best wishes, Dr. Noble Zachariah
