Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is no interaction among escitalopram, amlodipine and alcohol (one will not cause problems with the other). The medical reason why both doctors might have told you to not use alcohol is because of its effects in the high blood pressure and risk for heart disease.

Your blood pressure especially the diastolic value of 120 mmHg is quite high and dangerous if it is so high for long times. It does increase risk for problems with the heart and other organs and excess alcohol use is dangerous with high blood pressure.

A healthy male should not exceed 3 units of alcoholic drinks in a day (one unit is one small beer or one standard glass of wine, the other colored alcoholic drinks have their system in units).
Medically you don't need to completely quit alcohon but it is recommended for you to not exceed 3 units of alcoholic beverages a day so your liver and heart do well.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
