Does An Abnormal Pap Smear After Total Hysterectomy Indicate Cancer?
Hi My Name is Merlita,Good Afternoon I have total hysterectomy back 2000 and Last week i have a paps smear and the results is abnormal... my Doctor Clinic called yesterday and left msg in my phone but it was late when i heard the voice messages and office is closed . i wanted to know if this means i have a cancer?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Abnormal pap smear means that there are some changes in the cervix or the vaginal vault after hysterectomy. It can be some benign changes or early cancerous changes. You need to undergo colposcopy and directed biopsy, if needed to confirm the diagnosis. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
