Does An IUD Cause Heavy Sensation And Cramps In The Pelvic And Rectal Area?

hi, I often feel a heaviness in my pelvic area and rectal area. sometimes I feel a lot of cramps too. I have an IUD and was wondering if that have anything to do with it. its been happening like 3 weeks now. the heaviness can be so uncomfortable. I m going schedule an appointment with my gynecologist.

Hi,

IUD does not cause any heaviness or cramps in the pelvic or rectal area. You usually do not feel anything. Your symptoms can be related to constipation.

Hi,

How long you have been using the device? If it is long term there is a small possibility of infection (PID) which can cause symptoms like this. A small course of antibiotics will solve your problem. Anyway, it is good to get an gynecologist examine you before that.
