Does A Buzzing Sound In The Head Along With Mild Blurred Vision Indicate A Stroke?

I have a constant high pitched buzz in my head----not my ears, inside my upper cranium. I feel slightly light headed, but there is no pain. When the buzz is at its strongest it seems to sweep in a wave across the inside of my cranium----from my left to right. It lasts only a split second, but if it would last 3-5 seconds I am certain I would faint. I also have very slight blurriness of vision. Can this be a warning of a stroke or aneurysm? BTW, I also suffer from allergies, so----a layman's conjecture---might this be a weird sinus infection? Thanks for your attention.

Also, btw, my wife is a retired crna, so you can use jargon, because she will probably understand your language. Further----I am a Classicist, so I recognize Latin and Greek cognates as they pertain to medicine----sometimes. Sincerely, Edward Danis

Hello,

Your symptoms are not suggestive of any stroke or brain aneurysm.

They could be related to low blood pressure values.

For this reason, I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values and performing some tests:
- complete blood count for anemia
- a Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries for possible narrowing
- blood electrolytes for any possible imbalances
- a Head up Tilt test for possible orthostatic hypotension
- blood electrolytes for any possible imbalance.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
