Does Sazo Cause Weight Gain And Hair Loss?

I am 27 year old girl with 5 1 feet height weighs 70 kg. I am suffering from ankylosing arthritis which is inherited from my father and my doctor has advised me Sazo. I am taking Sazo 500 for 6 months now. Can you elaborate if Sazo is the reason for weight gain and hair fall? Also please advise if there are any side effects of Sazo?

Hi,

Yes, Sazo causes the above mentioned side effects. Severe nausea or vomiting when you first start taking Sulfasalazine; little or no urination, urine that looks foamy; puffy eyes, swelling in your ankles or feet, weight gain; or liver problems. Monitoring of liver function test is essential.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
