Hi! I had gone through your question and i understand your concern . You should not stop Prednisone right away , you have to follow your treating doctor advise by stoping it slowly. Prednisone is a synthetic cortisonic medication that stimulate adrenal glands to produce cortisol .Normaly your Pituitary gland and your brain do the stimulation and this is called Hypothalamic-pituitary -adrenal axis . When you use Prednison you decrease the function of this axis, and will have the symptoms of the lack of cortisol, _weakness, fatigue, faint , dizziness ,anxiety , insomia ,nause , vomiting , diarrhea , headache , slow heart rate (bradycardia), abdominal pain .
