Does Oxybutynin Cause Frequent Urination?

I am taking Oxybutynin 5 mg for urination problems - getting up 4-5 times a night to pee. Also now they gave me Tamulosin. Now I am so stuffed up & can t hardly breath - using extra pillows or sitting up in a recliner to sleep. Can these be effecting my nasal drainage.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Oxybutynin does not cause frequent urination.

It is in fact commonly prescribed to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, incontinence, and increased night-time urination.

Nasal congestion ('stuffy nose') is one of the common side effects of Tamsulosin. Usually, it's mild in nature and will go away within a few days or a couple of weeks. If it is more severe or doesn’t go away you should consult your treating doctor for an effective nasal decongestant drop.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
