Does Nexplanon Removal Cause Severe Abdominal Cramps And Withdrawal Bleeding?

Hi. So I Had My nexplanon birth control removed 8/3/18 and by 8/4/18 I was severely cramping and bleeding, it wasn’t light and it wasn’t heavy. I just got Day 6 Of bleeding. The cramps finally stopped after day 5 and the bleeding has lightened up to a soft spotting. The cramps were so severe it hurt to stand straight and I could barley sleep. The blood was a red/pinkish color. Was this a period or with drawl bleeding?

Hi,

Nexplanon removal can cause cramps and slight bleeding. Nothing much to worry as it will settle by itself in couple of days. As of now you can take analgesics like Mefenemic acid for pain relief.

Generally the he symptoms will settle by couple of days. If symptoms persist, you can consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
