Does Duphaston Help In Getting Pregnant?

Hello Doctor, I m 24 yrs old. Have been planning for a baby for past 6 months. I have my mensus cycle on-time . I m taking folic acid and my husband takes Zinc capsules. We are not in any other pills. A Gyn had suggested to take Duphaston (2tabs/day) for 7 days. It s been 4 days since I had my last tablet. I usually have mild cramps before my mensus date but I feel nothing now. Does this tablet really help in conceiving? or does it just mess with my regular periods by delaying it.

Hi, duphaston is a progesterone which is given to support the implantation. So, if your periods are delayed, do a urine pregnancy test at home to rule out pregnancy. If negative, it will take 7 to 10 days for the periods to come after stopping the tablet. You can take try naturally for 6 more months. Be in contact with your husband every 2 to 3 days after your periods stop. It will increase chances of your pregnancy. Hope I have answered your question.
