General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi & Welcome.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of Depoten.

It does not affect the kidney, but liable for habit forming (addiction) if abused.
It is a combined preparation of dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine and triprolidine.

Dextromethorphan is an opioid which is liable for addiction.
So, if abused, it can cause opioid dependence, leading to problems like anxiety, depression, seizures and sexual dysfunction.
Try to gradually reduce the quantity you are taking and then quit.

Do not stop it abruptly as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms like running nose, body ache, sweating, agitation, etc.
Quitting abruptly should always be done under medical supervision.

Hope to havew answered your query.
