Do Redness On Penis Head After Unprotected Sex Indicate STD?

I had drunken and unprotected sex with a girl I met in a bar. Within less than 8 hours, I noticed the head of my penis was red, looking a bit like a burn with a defined darker red, border. It looks like it should be sore but it isn t really but I am conscious and a ware of a fair tingly sensation. It feels different to an abrasion, as I ve had them before. Can herpes or syphilis manifest itself into a physical sore or chancre so quickly? All sources of info suggest HSV takes days to appear, but a chancre can appear immediately. What do you think this could be? Is it possible for this to be herpes given how quickly it has appeared, like a super strain? Or something else?

Hi,

Based on the symptoms you have described, you may have contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI) during your encounter. Redness on the head of the penis is a common symptom of STIs such as herpes and syphilis, although it is important to note that other conditions can also cause similar symptoms.

It is recommended that you visit a healthcare provider for testing and treatment as soon as possible. STIs can be easily transmitted and can cause serious health complications if left untreated. Testing typically involves a physical exam, swabbing the affected area, or taking a blood sample.

It is important to remember that not all STIs cause immediate symptoms, and some may take several days or weeks to appear. Practicing safe sex, including using condoms and getting regular STI testing, can help to reduce the risk of contracting and transmitting STIs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Redness of the penis head after unprotected sex can be a sign of a sexually transmitted infection (STI), but it can also be caused by other factors such as irritation or allergic reactions. Certain STIs can present with symptoms like redness, itching, and tingling sensations, including herpes and syphilis. However, the appearance of symptoms can vary widely depending on the individual and the specific infection.

It is important to see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment, especially if you are experiencing symptoms after unprotected sex. Your healthcare provider can perform tests to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and recommend the appropriate treatment.

It is also important to practice safe sex by using condoms and getting tested regularly for STIs, especially if you are sexually active with multiple partners. Proper hygiene and avoiding irritants can also help prevent redness and irritation of the penis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
