Do Medication For Diabetes, Triglycerides And Prostate Cause Elavated SGPT Levels?

My sgpt was 25 during june/15 and after that i was prescribed to have medicine for diebetice, triglisaride & prostate. Yesterday when again tested, my sgpt reading come 360.30 & biliribine 8.60. Can you tell me why suddenly sgpt has been increased? Is my liver is infected by hepatitis-b virus? Please answer.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that an infection is responsible for the increase. Blood tests for hepatitis b and c can be done to check for these infections.

In addition, other blood tests for the other liver enzymes such as sgot, alkaline phosphatase and GGT, would also need to be considered.
You may also need imaging such as an ultrasound of the abdomen to take a look at the liver.

I hope this helps
