Do Inguinal Hernias Recur After Surgery?

Hi! I m 61 years old and have had one umbilical and two inguinal hernias. I m currently recovering from surgery on the two inguinal hernias right now. My surgeon told me that I am predisposed to getting hernias because me abdominal muscle is very thin. My question is what are the chances of having another hernia pop up somewhere else on my abdomen?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Recurrence may occur after hernia surgery. You can go for laparoscopic surgery which has got very less chance for recurrence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
