Do SGOT And SGPT Levels Of 830 And 1130 Indicate A Healthy Liver?

Hi, I had jaundice 3 months ago with Billirubin 4.5, SGOT- 830 & SGPT- 1130. But currently the billirubin is 0.38, SGOT- 15 and SGPT- 27. whether the result suggests liver is ok and there is no jaundice virus. But still i am having weakness. Having cramp in legs. Fatigue. Lack of sufficient intake of water leads to yellowish of urine. Unable to live a normal life. Kindly advise

Hi,

Usually ALT or AST values higher than "two times the upper normal limit", is considered abnormal (in some countries, ALT or AST values of more than 100 are considered abnormal).

Value of AST or ALT greater than 85 or above maybe investigated further.as per your current AST ALT values, you need NOT worry.you may have a serum electrolytes test and a full blood cell count test to rule out any mild deficiency of a mineral/vitamin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tayyab Malik
