Do Eltroxin And Metformin Affect Pregnancy Test Results?
Good evening I am wondering if taking 50mg Eltroxin and 1000mg Ranophage Metformin would affect a pregnancy test? I am 46 and used to have regular periods, but recently they were quite light and every two weeks, and now I seem to be late. I have done a home pregnancy test which was negative. My husband has had a vasectomy, three years ago, but am still concerned i may be pregnant. I think I am about a week late. Many thanks
Hello there . I have read through your question and would like to tell you that eltroxin and Metformin do not cause any affect on the Beta Hcg levels and hence won't alter the pregnancy test. As you have mentioned that your husband has already had a vasectomy there is no chance you can be pregnant. There may be some other cause to your delayed periods. As you are Hypothyroid it can be a reason. You should get your TSH level checked. If you don't get your periods in a few days you should consult your gynaecologist. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
