Do 200ml Of Pacimol Drops Cause An Overdosage In An Infant?

I have fed Pacimol drops 100 mg/ml to my child of 2 months. But I am scared that I have given her wrong dose. I have given her 0.5 ml per dose and four doses a day. So, I believe I have given her 200 mg per day. But on the packet of the medicine, it is written that it should not cross 60 mg per day. And overdose in infant is scary. Plz inform should I take her to doctor or my interpretation of dose guide is wrong.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would like to know why you felt you needed to give your 2 month old a dose of fever medicine. Did she have a fever? If she had a fever, what was it? Had she been acting ill- would not allow you to comfort her? not taking her milk like normal? vomiting? diarrhea? For how many days did you give her Pacimol drops four times a day?
Overdose of this medicine can damage the liver causing her skin and eyes to become yellow and bleeding to occur. If you gave her more than the label on the bottle said to give her for just one day and she is acting normally with normal skin coloration and no bleeding, I believe she will be okay if you just watch her and not give her any more Pacimol. In the future carefully follow the directions on the bottle. Did you give the medicine by dropper or syringe? If a two month old infant has a fever, it could be serious like meningitis, or it could be minor, like a cold. It is important to know the cause of the fever in a young infant before giving the fever medicine.

Hope I have answered your query.
