Diagnosed With Allergic Fungal Sinusitis. On Ampho-B. Is There Any Other Treatment For This Disease?

I have just been diagnosed with allergic fungal sinusitis after a surgery to take out polyps and mucin . The surgeon referred to afs as a disease. The doctor put me on Ampho-B to be put into my sinuses 2xdaily. How prevalent is this diagnosis? I am allergic to mycostatin and just now I found that that is nystatin. If I am correct Ampho-B is related to nystatin. Is there any other treatment for this disease?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello,
Are you a diabetic ? get it ruled out. If yes then take proper medicine for that or better to take insulin under obervation of endocrinologist.
Nasal wash is the safest way for the usage of drug as there is least systemic absorption .
YOu should take properly the medicines as there are chances of flaring up of disease.Get urine function test done regularly.
get endoscopic examination of the nose regularly.
If you are allergic to nystatin you can use amphoteracin b for nasal wash .You can discuss it with your doctor
