Could ureaplasma infection be contracted through hot tub?
I am a female - 52, with one boyfriend. We sat in his hot tub one night and afterward he tested it and the ph was way off. I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and now, a week after my tests, I received a call from my doctor stating that I also have ureaplasma. I was tested for stds, etc. about a week after I met my boyfriend and all tests were negative. Is it possible I could have gotten ureaplasma from that hot tub?
Yes, Ureplasma can be transmitted through hot tub or dirty swimming pool. The possibility that you got it from that hot tub is high, however you could have had it long time ago and you didn't know about it, sometimes women can have ureaplasma for long time without knowing..
It is treated with antibiotics mainly doxycycline. so make sure you continue with the antibiotic treatment and finish the full coarse of treatment to avoid complications.
Wishing you all the best

Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant and first time pregnant. I have gardnerella and both me and my hustband have ureaplasma urealyctum and have been working with a doctor to treat them. We have been on several rounds of different antibiotics but still are testing positive for ureaplasma. From what I have read, it sounds like ureaplasma can be quite dangerous for complications in pregnancy like preterm birth and delivering your baby vaginally. I m really nervous about miscarriage and I would hope to deliver my baby naturally. What should be our next steps?
My doctor prescribed me with doxycycline capsules (7 days, twice a day) along with a digestive medicine (light green pill, helps with indigestions, diarrea, etc.) when I was diagnosed with ureaplasma urealyticum. I know there are many side effects when taking antibiotics and I was wondering if there was a safer solution to clear this infection 100%. If doxycycline is the only way to go, what are the precautions?
i had tested for ureaplasma and results came positive, i asked my boyfriend to be tested too, he did and it came negative, i did take medication and waiting for second lab results, My question does it spread only sexually?
I was diagnosed with ureaplasma a few years ago. My boy friend did not have the disease and he blamed me for infidelity. I only had sex with my ex-husband before my divorce and since I knew my boy friend, I only had sex with him. I had an abortion the year before so could I contract ureaplasma somehow through the abortion; or from unhygenic sex toys or by performing oral sex to my boy friend etc? I couldn't stand the blame of infidelity anymore as I did not sleep with any other man. Please help me!!!

Hi. I got the results from a test I took a couple of weeks ago testing for STDs. I tested positive for ureaplasma parvum, though I have none of its symptoms. Is this dangerous? Should I treat it or will it pass by itself? And is it dangerous to my female parter? Can it spread through oral sex or sex with a condom? Thanks
