Could Three Abnormal Masses On The Liver Be Anything Other Than Cancer?

My Mother just received test results that show 3 masses on her liver. Her blood work showed her AST at 78 and her ALT at 67. Her white blood count was also elevated at 14. She is scheduled for liver a biopsy on Monday. Is there any other condition other than cancer that would explain these results?

Hi
thank you for querry.
there are two types of liver masses one is primary and one is secondry.
90 percent liver tumor are secondry mets from other area such as breast, lungs and GIT,
primary tumors are less common and may be benign or malignant.history and clinical examination give much clue regarding wight loss and hepatomegaly along with spleen size and either its tender or not.
in 2ndry case treatment is usually palliative means just supportive and prognosis is typically less than 6 months.
and in primary its due to HCC,most common
in malignant case
and adenoma in benign case.
HCC is also poor prognosis less than 6 month buy adenomas are good prognosis.
