Could The Thickness Of Endometrium Be The Cause For Miscarriage?
I just had an IUI Saturday morning. Wednesday prior at the ultrasound I had 2 follicles ready at 23mm and 20mm and 3 more that weren t quite ready yet. My endometrium was at first measured at 6.5 and then he said he got a better view and it looked more like 8.5. I took the trigger shot at 9:30 pm on Thursday and went for the IUI Saturday morning at 8:30. My husbands count post wash was 15 mil. What I am concerned about is the endometrium thickness. Last year I had two miscarriages within 3 months of each other. The first one made it to 12 weeks but the second only made it to 4 -5 weeks. I am wondering if the endometrium could have been to blame but it could also be my age. I am 36.
Hi, The thickness of the endometrium at 8 mm. is sufficient to establish a pregnancy safely and so, please do not worry on this point. Your age is not a problem as you have sufficient ovarian reserve at this stage. You should continue with the follicular study to see if ovulation has occurred. If it is so, you have very good chance of conception. As far as the quality of the semen is concerned, it is the count of normal forms and progressive motility that is more important than the total count. Hope this helps.
