Could Spinal Cord Pain Be Due To Marginal Osteophytosis?

I,m having severe pain in my spinal cord for last 4 yrs. i have consulted several doctors and several tests were performed including the MRI, bone tb etc. however the doctors are unable to find out the actual reason. Finally i've seen an orthopaedic surgeon and he advised me to do phisiotherapy, treatment with heat. In the MRI test report a marginal sign of osteophytosis is mentioned. I could not find the solution please advise.
