Could Red Patches On Vagina Post Unprotected Sex Indicate STD?

Two weeks ago I got a ringworm behind my ear. I was treating it. I made sure to wash my hands after every treatment. So now, starting a week ago, I now have some ringworms under my breast, on my rib cage and a few places on my waist. Tonight I decided to see if any had spread anywhere else and I think there s one in the crease where my inner thigh and vagina meets. I open up my vagina lips to see if any are around or in my vagina and I saw 3 slightly red patches. But there s no irritation/itch. I m starting to wonder if these are ringworms or is there something else wrong with me? Does any of this sound like something else? I had unprotected sex in February, could it be an STD?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a yeast infection. I suggest using Clotrimazole cream for local application. I also suggest to maintain a good hygiene and use cotton breathable underwear.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
