Could Persistent Cough With Phlegm And Nasal Drip Indicate Bronchitis?

my barking cough has been persistent for three weeks; I wake during the night with nasal drip and coughing up phlem; I do not have a fever. The coughing is tiring; I don t seem to be able to get rid of this; it seems to be in my throat and upper chest. Morning phlem has yellowing, but it clears during the day. This cough disturbs my rest. Any reason to expect brochitis or phneumonia?

Hello dear user!
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns!
Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic.
The possible conditions you might have are these:
-Bronchitis, an infection of your lower respiratory tract, which explains the cough with the yellowish secretions especially in the morning, and:
-Rhino-sinusitis an infection of your upper respiratory tract which explains the nasal drip and cough.
You have to take an antibiotic cure to treat these two conditions and some other drugs to remove the excessive mucus.
I would recommend your Clarithromycin as advised by your pharmacist, Bromhexine tabs for the mucus and Vitamin C to help your body increase the strength and immunity.
Maintain a diet with a lot of liquids to keep your body well hydrated.
I hope this answer was helpful to you!
Please kindly rate it and write a short review about your experience with me!
