Pleurisy is inflammation of the lining of the lungs and chest (the pleura) that leads to chest pain when you take a breath, cough, sneeze or change the postures. Pleurisy may develop when you have lung inflammation due to infection, such as a viral infection, pneumonia, tuberculosis, asbestos related disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or lung cancer. The foul breath and the smell discharge are indicative of some obstruction in the airways that might have been caused by those three nodules.
