General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query.
I appreciate your concern for the chest pain associated with the nodules in the lungs.
Pain under the ribs in presence of nodules is suggestive of Pleurisy.

Pleurisy is inflammation of the lining of the lungs and chest (the pleura) that leads to chest pain when you take a breath, cough, sneeze or change the postures.

Pleurisy may develop when you have lung inflammation due to infection, such as a viral infection, pneumonia, tuberculosis, asbestos related disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or lung cancer.

The foul breath and the smell discharge are indicative of some obstruction in the airways that might have been caused by those three nodules.

In view of the above listed possibilities of chest pain, you are advised to visit your pulmonologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope this answers your query.

Wishing you good health.
