Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit.
As you have not mentioned about the nature, type and location of pain I will not be able to put differential diagnosis. And one more thing is missing which type of food he consumed last night. If the chest pain is due to taking spicy and oily food i will advice you to give pantoprazol or ranitidine before food for the heartburn. Avoid taking spicy, oily and fermented foods and Stop smoking. In addition to it seek medical advice. Doctor will run couple of test depending upon the history of pain and will treat him accordingly.
