Could Itching In Tongue And Gums And Inflammation Under The Jaw Be Allergic Reactions?
I have been on fluoxetine for almost 2 months and about a week ago I started to notice that my tongue and gums are itchy and very irritated after brushing and using mouth wash. My glands under my jaw are very inflamed and I'm thinking I may be having an allergic reaction. Unfortunately I am allergic to quite a few drugs and I'm thinking its time to contact my doctor.
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician or an Emergency room and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination should be done.
You can be advised anti allergics like Benadryl and gargling with steroid containing mouthwash to reduce inflammation and soreness.. Do warm saline gargles. Avoid spicy foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards.

Could Itching In Tongue And Gums And Inflammation Under The Jaw Be Allergic Reactions?
Hi.. Thanks for the query.. Itchy and irritated gums and tongue with soreness and pain on brushing and gargling with mouthwash is due to inflammation inside the mouth. It can be very much due to allergic reaction.. Inflamed and swollen lymph nodes can be due to inflammation caused due to allergic reaction..
