Could Itching In Lungs Be Due To The Smoking Of Electronic Cigarettes?

Hey, since a few weeks I ve been using an electronic cigarette of fairly high quality. However, since last week there is this tiny itch in my lungs which doesn t seem to go away. Breathing normal oxygen can cause the itch to get a bit worse sometimes and the electronic cigarette as well. (so not only when I use the e-cig) I was wondering if this e-cig might be the cause of it...?

Hi,

What you are feeling is probably an abnormal sensation in the upper respiratory tract as sensation in lungs cannot be felt due to absence of such sensory nerves in internal organs. Perhaps inhalation of either oxygen or vapours from the e-cigarette is irritating the lining of the respiratory tract. It is not unusual for oxygen too to act as an irritant. Please refrain from using e-cigarettes. Try steam inhalation as it can soothe the inflamed mucosa.

Best wishes.
