Could Intermittent Right Abdominal Pain Be Related To Polyp In Rectum?
Following annual gynecological exam, I was referred to a gastroenterologist for a possible colonoscopy for a larger than normal polyp found in my rectum. I ve also been having dull intermittent pains in my lower right abdomen. Could this be related?

Rectal polyps symptoms are as follows:
1) Bleeding
2) Occult blood in stools
3) Diarrhea or constipation
4) Anemia due to bleeding
So, mostly your intermittent lower right abdomen pain may not be related to rectal polyps. The following are few causes of lower right abdomen pain:
1) Appendix inflammation
2) Indigestion
3) Pelvic inflammatory disease
4) Pain due to large ovarian cyst
5) Endometriosis
6) Intestinal obstruction
7) Sometimes abdominal muscle spasms
You may need to meet a general surgeon and undergo an ultrasound imaging of abdomen to know the accurate cause of pain and to initiate the appropriate treatment.
