Could Hard Bony Knot On Forehead That Doesn T Grow Be Cancerous ?
I have a hard bony knot on my forehead. It has been there for at least 10 years. It is a round knot and is probably pea sized. If it has grown any over the years, it is not much at all. I am not having any pain or anything from it, I just seem to notice it more now in pics and stuff like that. I had my PCP look at it at one time and he just felt of it and told me it was bone thickening. I have never had an xray or scan to determine exactly what it is. I assume it is not something serious since it has not changes very much and I assume it is not cancerous because of the time I have had it, it would probably be bad by now. Any advice on what it could be?
A hard swelling present for the past 10 years without any symptoms might be most propably a benign (non malignant) swelling. Hence there is nothing much to worry about it.
If there is any rapid change in the size or shape of the swelling, then it has to be evaluated to rule out any malignant (cancerous) change.
So if you are concerned, go for investigations like xrays, MRI scans and biopsy of the swelling to conclude the nature of the swellng.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
