Could Fever Along With Numbness In Arm Be Due To Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

My wife has a fever (103-104) complaining of numbness and tingling in left arm, a headache, dry mouth, recently had wisdom tooth removed were they had to break the bone to remove, right side of face still swollen (wisdom tooth removed 2 days ago)
Should we be worried? Is it the after effect of the tooth removal? What should I do?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain the symptoms that your wife is experiencing are not due to wisdom tooth extraction while can be due to causes like allergic reaction or side effects of medications that she must be advised post extraction or if the wisdom tooth was infected then the infection can enter blood circulation during extraction causing bacteremia and septicemia causing fever and other symptoms..

Swelling on face is due to inflammation caused post extraction and will resolve gradually in a week..

I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get her evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now give her a combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen and also do cool compresses over the cheek..
Doing cool sponges over the forehead and extremities can help in reducing fever,,

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
