Could Feeling Of Lump In Throat Be Related To History Fo Cervical Discectomy And Fusion At C6-C7?

I had cervical discectomy and fusion at C6-C7 a little over 7 years ago and the surgery went really well and took care of all of the issues I was having. Within the last 3 or 4 days have felt like something is pressing on my throat, like a lump in my throat. It is somewhat difficult to swallow anything with real substance as well. It also becomes worse if I'm lifting anything. Could this possibly be an issue with the hardware in my neck?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum

I am sorry for your condition. Yes, as you guessed, the throat discomfort could be due to the swelling created by the hardware. My frank suggestion to you is to consult your doctor, he may suggest you to get an X-ray done to rule out any fibrosis around the implant.

Regards
