Ecg and echo and blood test, fbc, buse, creatinine, lft, tsh, flp, all seems normal. Currently got muscle cramp.. Is it hypocalcaemia? My gp thot it is gerd, given pantoprazole and maxalon..

Hi,

Dull chest pain with palpitations and vertigo can have various causes and it's important to have a proper evaluation to determine the underlying cause. While hypocalcemia can cause muscle cramps, it's less likely to be the cause of chest pain and palpitations. It's good that you have had an ECG, echocardiogram, and blood tests that have come back normal, which rule out cardiac and some other serious causes of chest pain.

GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is a common cause of chest pain that can be dull and diffuse, and can sometimes be associated with palpitations. The medication prescribed by your GP, pantoprazole, is used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach, which can help with GERD symptoms. Maxalon (metoclopramide) is used to reduce nausea and vomiting, and can also help with GERD symptoms.

It's possible that the muscle cramps you are experiencing could be related to a mineral imbalance, such as hypocalcemia. However, other causes of muscle cramps, such as dehydration or overuse, should also be considered.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, it would be best to follow up with your GP or a specialist for further evaluation and management. They may consider additional tests or imaging studies, such as a chest X-ray or CT scan, to further evaluate the cause of your chest pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
