Could Bumps In The Stomach Area Be One Of The Symptoms Of HIV?
Hi Doctor, I went to a Dermatologist because I had some bumps in my stomach. She said they are molluscum contagasium or something like that and advised to get them removed. I only have them in my stomach area. She asked me to get an HIV test and I am freaking out. Is this a sign of HIV?
Molluscum contagasium occurs in immuno compromised patient. In adult it is commonly seen in HIV positive individuals. It r presents as Gaint molluscum lesions in them. Treatment is removal and Antiretroviral therapy. In my opinion it is advisable to screen for HIV in such patients. It is a routine medical practice. So don't be afraid. Go ahead.
