Could An Elevated CEA Indicate The Presence Of Colorectal Cancer?

Female, non-smoker, 45. Diabetic. Taking Crestor. Red blood cell count at 159 g/L and CVGR at 11.3%. TIBC 80 micro mol/L and iron saturation at 0.18. My CEA is at 4.4 micro gram/L. I m not pregnant. Does the elevated CEA indicate without a doubt the presence of colorectal cancer? Thank you.

Dear madam, greeting s!! please note that elevation in CEA does not tel us the complete story .. there are so many reasons for elevation in CEA... both benign (not harmful) and malignant conditions in the list... do you have any symptoms like constipation ,, diarrohea/ blood in stools pain etc???? the elevation is mild and it could be mostly a harmless condition... any way u need to recheck in a good lab ... if it is still high after a month.. to be on the safer side ... please meet your surgeon u need GI endoscopy to see what is the problem. if you dont have any other symptoms pls be happy need not worry . but rule out any thing .. consult surgeon soon ...please do contact us for any further assistance
