Could A Itchy, Tingling Rash With A Lesion On Neck Indicate Shingles?

I have a rash about the size of a quarter along w/another small lesion to the left of the larger sized one. The larger one I d a bit to the right of the base of my neck. The other is to the left. There is no pain, tingling although occasional itchiness that will stop if I scratch it. I felt a sting and felt as though a bug bit me. It left a small bump which turned into this lesion. Do you think this is an allergic reaction or could it be shingles?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you wondering if itchy, tingling rash with a lesion on neck indicate shingles . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Contact dermatitis ,allergic reaction , side effect , sensitivity to sunlight , eczema , psoriasis or shingles . I would suggest you to keep thsi area clean and dry , clean it with cold water and mild soap , do not touch or sctach , apply petroleum jelly and take anti histamine like benadryl twice day . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically and take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe acyclovir , capsaicin cream , gabapentin , tricyclic antidepressants or lidocaine .
