Could I Take Levofloxacin For Strep Throat And Feminax Express For Period Pain At Same Time?
I have been prescribed Levofloxacin (500mg) for strep throat. I took my first one this morning, and now wish to take two Feminax Express tablets for bad period pain but I m am worried about taking the two different drugs at the same time. Please could you advise me?! Thanks
Hi. Feminax express is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID in short form). It contains Ibuprofen. This drug usually not combined with anti-blood-clotting medicines, anti platelet drugs and also should not be taken in combination with painkilling doses of aspirin (above 75mg per day) or any other oral NSAID, (eg naproxen, diclofenac) as this increases the risk of side effects on the stomach and intestines. Levofloxacin usually is not safe to take with feminax as these drugs interact and may cause CNS excitation. This means it increases the risk of seizures (fits). So monitoring by your treating doctor is required. Please consult your doctor and be safe. All d best..WISH U GOOD HEALTH
