A lower back ache and cramps can occur pre-menstrual phase. Soreness of the nipples is usually experienced during pre-menstrual phase. This is due to effect of progesterone. Progesterone in the hormone secreted during the second half of the menstrual cycle. It often causes feeling of fullness, abdominal distention and soreness of nipples. All these effects are due to fluid retention. If these symptoms are very troublesome or occur through out the month, you can consult your gynecologist for clinical examination, relevant investigations and management.
