Could HCG Level Of 22 Indicate Miscarriage?

Hello! I have 4 positive home pregnancy tests. I also got a positive blood test this evening but my HCG levels are only at 22. The doctor seemed concerned and said I was probably having an early miscarriage. Do you agree? Is 22 a for sure failed pregnancy? Is there still a chance?

Hi,

I would explain that HCG levels should be correlated with your last menstrual cycle date in order to give a more professional opinion on the pregnancy.

You should know that there is a progressive rise in HCG levels during pregnancy and if the levels do not match with the weeks of pregnancy calculated, suspicions of a miscarriage are raised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
