Hi. My 1 year old went for his 1year check up 2 weeks ago during which he had a little cold (congested n green boogies) blood work came back high WBC 21,000 dr sent us for more blood work WBC came back 17,000and he looked great during checkup. She said go back in 3 days to make sure everything is back to normal. Results came back 23,000 with atypical cells. She sent us to hematologist/oncologist. He did a whole exam and said he looked great. He's still fighting off this cold he caught from his sister 3 weeks ago. Nose has turned to clear and runny and coughing still. The dr did more blood work that day and said WBC went up to 24,000 and he did see atypical cells about 15%. He said he's confident he's good and healthy and he thinks the wacky numbers are a mixture of his viral cold, his vaccinations he received 3 weeks ago and allergies. Were going back in 3 weeks to double check blood work but I'm a total mess right now. Can u give me ur opinion?
