Child With Runny Nose And Cold Symptoms. Blood In Mucus. Reason?
Hi my daughter is 3 years old and has had a slight runny nose from her left nostril for over a month now without any cold symptoms. Over the past couple of days its been bleeding on and off and pussing and stinks of rot. Any idea of what this could be? I tried to push the stuff out of her nose and its like a bloody puss and it seems to really hurt her.

Runny nose from left nostril since one month long duration associated with blood and pus discharge is suggestive of the presence of a foreign body in the left nostril most probably.
Children usually keep some beads or seeds into nostrils and they don't inform to parents.
This type of foreign bodies in nostrils present with prolonged nasal discharge from one side associated with blood and pus discharge and foul smelling due to tissue necrosis and secondary infection.
The second possibility is any growth in the nostril.
I advise you to consult an ENT specialist immediately for the examination and for the removal of foreign body if it is present.
