Child Vomited After Being Fed With Oatmeal, Has Dry Heaving, Choking. How Can I Keep Her Hydrated?
I fed my daughter some baby oatmeal befor bedtime and got her to sleep. After maybe 30 minutes she started vomiting she threw up all the oatmeal I fed her and now she keeps dryheaving and choking she even stops breathing and I have to pat on her back to get her to breath... What should u do u don t want her to get dehydrated but I don t want her to keep puking either I do t know what caused it to begin with. Please help...
I can understand your concern. I am worried when you mention that your daughter chokes and stops breathing which needs to be urgently addressed. In case she is normal then you can give her a dose of ondansetron. As the age is not mentioned I cannot suggest the quantity of the dose. This should control her vomitings. You can then give her small quantities of liquid frequently so that she does not get dehydrated.
As you wanted to know the cause of vomitings, something has gone in her stomach which is not suiting her. Either it has to do with the food or the way it was prepared.
If things do not settle down then it would be appropriate for her to be examined by her doctor.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
