Child Suffering From Cold, Cough. Prescribed Levolin. Chest Congestion Present. Safe To Nebulise?

Hello, my 3 year daughter is sufferring from cold and cough. The doctor has prescribed levolin 0.31mg+ 2ml ns. She has been given the same treatment last year and the year before that. Is it safe to nebuliser every year since it looks like she only goes through this when the climate changes and the doctor has not mentioned any signs of asthma. Though she did say that there is congestion in the chest.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

1. We cant confirm as asthma at the age of 3.
2. Since it was given last year there is no problem of using it. But since the problem is occuring when climate changes you can give Tab Montelukast 4 mg once every day 15 days to 1 month before the onset of the season to prevent any problem after discussing with your pediatrician. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries or doubts or any further information and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Relax, there is nothing to worry .
Nebulisation is only a mode of delivery of drug and it is totally safe.
By this less amount of drug is required as it directly goes to organ of action thus decreasing side effects of medicine as well.

Since your child is having problem at time of season change, You must nebulise her at that time.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless.
