Child Having Rashes With Fever. Are These Related?
My son has had a rash on his bottom for nearly a week. Within the last few days he has developed white heads on a few of the spots. Also he had a boil type spot at the top of his bum before this all started, and he now has another boil looking spot with a mass underneath near the size of a quarter. Just this afternoon he has developed a fever of around 103. Could this all be related?
Hi
As per your description it is looking like
1. Pustules(pyoderma) which present with raised skin leisons with pus filled and requires oral antibiotic with local application of antibacterial cream
2. Candidal skin infection which present with raised red skin lesions which require topical antifungar cream application.
Consult your Pediatrician for the examination of skin lesions and their management.
Hello
The lesion described by you suggests candida dermatitis along with cellulitis may be evolving into an abscess.
In candida dermatitis there is erythematous rash with white satellite lesions which is common in perianal area due to presence of moisture.
Mass with boil looking spot may be cellulitis with induration and a pus point. These lesions may be source of infection causing fever.
All these are my presumptive diagnosis on the basis of your description.
I would suggest you to consult a pediatrician for clinical examination, diagnosis and management accordingly.
