Child Had Vomiting, Hands And Feet Freezing. Could This Be The Start Of Virus?

My daughter is 18 months, she started vomiting last night from 9pm til 11pm. She has stopped and is drinking water. She doesn't want to eat much, she has been in a daze all day and tonight her hands and feet are freezing compared to her body. I can't see any spots but I feel that something isn't right! She has just started daycare and a baby has just contracted hand foot and mouth! Could this be the start of the virus?

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. If your child had vomiting and hands and feet are freezing, I am thinking that child is dehydrated and needs to be warmed with warm blankets and hydrated with fluids in any way. I think that you are right, about the viral infection and I think it will go away with time. Please see a pediatrician if the problems persist and you are having a rough time with the baby. Symptomatic treatment is the only way out in viral infections and I am assuming that is what the doctor would do as well.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
