Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Child. Small Dent On Head Due To Fall And Hitting Head On Tub. No Concussion, Vomiting, Dizziness, Reduced Swelling. Concerning?
My two year old son fell this morning and hit his head on the tub. He stopped crying almost immediately and I applied ice. He has no signs of a concussion.... No vomiting, dizziness, etc. the lump was larger this morning and seems to have gone down extensively. But it does feel like there's a small dent. Should I be worried?
It appears that nearly 12 hours have passed since your son injured himself and except for the dent there is nothing wrong. I believe you should not worry about this. You did the right thing by applying ice immediately following the injury. In case he becomes drowsy or vomits or shows abnormal behaviour you shall have to worry.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Hi Thanks for your query. I understand your concern. Relax, there is nothing to worry as there are no signs and symptoms of head injury. Do not worry about dent it will subside of its own in couple of days.Monitor his activities for another 12 hours.
