Chest Pains When Breathes Deeply, ECG Shows Possible Right Ventricular Hypertrophy. Meaning ?

my year old had chest pains today and indicated that when he breathed in deeply it was more painful. went to ER. they gave him an ECG - results vent rate 73 bpm, PR interval 130ms, QRS duration 94 ms, QT?QTc 398/438 ms, P_R_T axes 49 100 53 - analysis says normal sinus rhythm possible right venticualr hypertrophy. what does this mean?
ER doctor said ECG was fine , and gave my son a bretahing treatment and inhaler and said because it ws so humid today he proabbaly felt tightness in chest and had asthma- my son has never had any asthma symptoms and today was not that humid/hot compared to many other days this summer.. just worried the dr missed something.

any info on the ecg results would be appreciated.

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.
As you mentioned that, your sons ECG shows POSSIBLE Right ventricular hypertrophy.

It does not always mean that your son have hypertrophy.
Because it is a automatic reading by ECG Machine.
It does not interpret with physical examination and patient condition at that time.
It just reads the electric waves at that time of taking ECG.

But it is better to take second opinion by showing ECG to either cardiologist or Your Physician.
values mentioned in ECG is almost normal.
Any way he had Chest pain and breathlessness, ECG was the prime investigation to rule out any acute cause.

I advise him to undergo further examination like, Retake ECG, ECHOCardiography, Chest X ray and consult a cardiologist.

Hope this helps.
If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Cardiologist Dr. Anantharamakrishnan's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

‘Possible Right ventricular hypertrophy’ is most often not significant.... it is probably from present from birth and is an incidental finding in many people! Usual causes are lead placement / normal variant / delay in nerve conduction / chamber enlargement and so on...
If anything, ECHOcardiorm will clarify the issue of cardiomegaly..
He seems to have simple asthmatic bronchitis... nothing else...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
