What Causes Discomfort In The Right Lower Rib When Sitting?

I have had a dull uncomfortable pressure especially while sitting just under my right lower rib. I went to my local doctor and they had me go through a Stress Test and Echo. All of these tests came back Normal other than I read that there is moderate left atrial enlargement. Thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to costochondritis which is an inflammation of the cartilage in the rib cage. I suggest using Acetaminophen three times a day to relieve the pain.

I also suggest using warm compresses for local applications. I recommend to consult a cardiologist regarding the left atrial enlargement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
