Chest Fluttering, Low BP, Abnormal Heart Rate, Discomfort, Loss Of Concentration. Done Echocardiogram. What Does It Denote?
My blood pressure has been 88/55 the past couple days, my heart rate is 85 at rest and my chest feels flutterly. I have loss of concentration and feel generallly uncomfortable. Should I be concerned? I am female, 70 years old recently retired. generally in good health. Have had echocardigram in past and all have been ok.
Yes / Definitely a cause for concern – low pressure / arrhythmia / discomfort...may mean Coronary Artery Disease or arrhythmia –
THE FIRST STEP IS TO SEE A CARDIOLOGIST – AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ... In suspected heart attack, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE – if detected early, an attack may even be aborted / the amount of damage and complications can be reduced remarkably. The most important time is the first few hours.
Immediate EKG / ECHOcardiogram / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance. The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) may be necessary, later...
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
